African Transport Finance Conference (ATFC) – A successful first edition in Abidjan

The first edition of the African Transport Finance Conference (ATFC) , organised by DELIÔZ Consulting , was held at the Sofitel Hotel Ivoire in Abidjan from 8 to 10 April 2025. This major event brought together more than one hundred public, private and institutional actors around a central issue for the African continent: the sustainable financing of transport infrastructure .
A structuring event for the transport sector
The ATFC was designed as a platform for strategic thinking around issues related to the decarbonization of infrastructure , multimodal mobility and access to appropriate financing mechanisms .
The official opening was presided over by Mr. Juge Coné Dioman , Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Transport, representing Minister Amadou Koné . This initiative, led by DELIÔZ Consulting, brought together local, regional, and international expertise to develop concrete proposals for transport financing in Africa.
Priority topics addressed
The working sessions covered a range of strategic themes:
Financing models for Green Ports and sustainable port logistics
The development of rail and multimodal corridors
The role of public-private partnerships (PPPs) in structuring projects
Access to green funds and the pooling of costs at the regional level
Governance and optimization of investments in the maritime, road, rail and air sectors

Awards ceremony for industry professionals
As part of this first edition, DELIÔZ Consulting presented several honorary awards to stakeholders who have demonstrated a strong commitment to the sustainable development of transport:
AGL Côte d'Ivoire and Abidjan Terminal have received the DELIÔZ Green Port Award , in recognition of their environmentally responsible port terminals.
The Autonomous Port of Abidjan has been awarded the DELIÔZ West Africa Investments Ports Award for its major investments over the past ten years.
The Port of Pointe-Noire has obtained the DELIÔZ Central African Investments Ports Award , for its similar efforts in Central Africa.
Air Côte d'Ivoire was honored with the DELIÔZ Airlines Award for its investments aimed at improving the quality of its air services.
final technical visit
The conference concluded with a technical visit organized for all participants. This visit provided an opportunity to discover two exemplary infrastructures of the AGL Côte d'Ivoire group:
Ivory Coast Terminal , a port terminal certified "Green" by Bureau Veritas
AEROHUB , a state-of-the-art 6,000 m² logistics center dedicated to storage and distribution
Mr. Johann DJEDJE , transport economist and Chairman of the ATFC Scientific Committee, concluded:
"This conference was a true platform for exchange, sharing of experiences and concrete proposals for financing multimodal transport. We were all enriched by the quality of the contributions."
